Betrayal, greed, arrogance, threat, affrontery, catastrophic misjudgment, contempt, shameless, fury and many other similar words rang out loud and clear from all quarters. For us, the ones patronizingly dismissed as ‘legacy fans’, it was an attack on everything that our game means to us. Such an initiative would be of significance at any point in time but now, with COVID-19 having such a negative impact on the mental health and wellbeing of so many people, it is that much more to be welcomed.
