Advice for fans travelling to Oxford

West Ham’s Carabao Cup Third Round tie takes place at the Oxford United’s Kassam Stadium on Wednesday 25th September ko 19.45.

Following a conversation between a WHUISA representative, Thames Valley Police, staff from the U’s, the Hammers’ Designated Police Officer Andy Sheldon and other fan groups we can offer the following advice to West Ham supporters travelling to Oxford United.

All away fans travelling by car should park in the west car park, not the east end.

Ticket pick-up will be in the North Stand by the entry gate only.

There are no named pubs for away fans but neither are there “no go” pubs.

Any Hammers supporter in the home end will be asked to leave and won’t be allowed back into the ground.

There will be no problem with fans standing so long as they remain by their allocated seat.

There is restricted room for flags - they will be on a first come, first served basis.

West Ham supporter Paul Sanders lives near the ground and offered the following advice via our Facebook page:

He said: “There are no pubs close to the ground. There is a bar in the bowling alley and at the adjoining cinema, up the escalators is a bar called the ‘fourth stand’ but other than that there’s nothing.

“Closest is in Littlemore. Be aware that the council have put in parking restrictions in Littlemore on match days, but if you hunt about you’ll find something.”

He added: “The walk from there is 10-15 minutes and you’ll be at the right end of the stadium when you arrive.”

Many thanks Paul!

Enjoy your trip to Oxford, the first for West Ham since a 1-0 defeat in March 1993 - and our first ever trip to the Kassam.
