WHUISA Statement - Potential Future Protest

The West Ham United Independent Supporters Association (WHUISA) is pleased to confirm that due to an overwhelming response from our members, we will bring forward our debate regarding a potential future protest from the annual general meeting (AGM), to our scheduled committee meeting on Saturday 31st March 2018.

In line with our constitution, WHUISA will hold a ballot of members who are physically present at the committee meeting. All details regarding the ballot, venue and timings will be sent to members before close of play Thursday 15th March.

We wish to give all supporters a chance to lawfully express their feelings. If a majority of our members vote to proceed with a protest we will adhere to any legal requirements and work in a transparent way with relevant stakeholders. We will also be working alongside the Football Supporters Federation.

WHUISA would also again wish to stress that we, as an Independent Supporters Association are not in any way political and exist to be guided by our members and in accordance with our Constitution. As taken from our website (www.whuisa.org/about):

“WHUISA is a non-partisan, not-for-profit organisation run by the fans for fans. We believe that by coming together under a single banner the myriad of opinion / views from all our fan base especially at this crucial time in our history we can move forward together as a strong group with a real mandate from you the fans to have a pivotal influence through frank and open channels of communication, based on mutual respect and accountability, with our Club, its owners, the board and Stadium / 3rd party operators. We aim to work tirelessly to achieve this.”

You can join WHUISA at www.whuisa.org/join for £1. The deadline for joining WHUISA to be able to take part in the ballot on Saturday 31st March is Midnight of Saturday 24th March.
